She’s trained for everything up to and including alien invasion. One problem. No one told her aliens would be so damn sexy.
It’s simple. When her base is attacked by aliens, Cat has to fight. Whenever and however possible. But the alien leader, Tarrick, has her in his sights and she has one choice. Come to his bed or things go badly for her friends.
Determined to resist, it’s hard to remember what she’s fighting against when her alien captor is built like a god and his touch sets her body on fire. She only has to fool him for a while, just long enough to get the information they need to escape. Long enough to find out her alien captor isn’t the monster she thought...
But when the time comes, will she want to leave?
He needs a female, or they all die.
His species is dying. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but with no females, their days are numbered. Finding a base full of females is a bounty Tarrick can't ignore. Nor can he ignore the delicate little female who stirs his blood yet dares to defy him at every step.
Then a dangerous rival challenges his claim on Terran space and all it’s females. He can’t afford to lose control, or his clan is doomed.
When his treasured female is taken, he'll do anything to rescue her. Including starting an intergalactic war…
FAQ
What kind of book is Alien Lord's Captive?
Alien Lord's Captive is a fated mates alien abduction romance with a possessive warrior hero and a feisty military heroine. When Latharian war commander Tarrick K'Vass hears Cat's voice on a recording, he mobilises his fleet to find her — and Cat, a human sergeant, has no intention of going quietly. It's the first book in the Warriors of the Lathar series and features forced proximity aboard an alien warship, a captor who falls hard and fast, and a heroine who fights back at every turn.
Is Alien Lord's Captive a fated mates romance?
Yes. Tarrick K'Vass is drawn to Cat from the moment he hears her voice, and the Latharian mating bond is at the heart of their story. If you love fated mates with possessive alien warriors who fall hard and fast, this is the book that kicks off the entire Warriors of the Lathar series... and you'll see why the mating marks have become one of readers' favourite things about this world.
Do I need to read Warriors of the Lathar in order?
Alien Lord's Captive is Book 1 and the best place to start. It introduces the Latharian species, their culture, and the conflict with humanity that drives the series. Each book follows a different couple and can be enjoyed on its own, but reading in order gives you the full picture of the overarching story. See the full reading order on the Warriors of the Lathar series page.
How steamy is Alien Lord's Captive?
Alien Lord's Captive is a steamy, open-door romance with explicit love scenes. Tarrick K'Vass is a possessive Latharian warrior and the heat between him and Cat builds from their first encounter. If you enjoy sci-fi romance with high heat and a dominant alien hero, this delivers.
Where should I start with Mina Carter's Warrior's of the Lathar alien romance books?

Kirr M'Aab Reviews: Alien Lord's Captive (Warriors of the Lathar #1)
(Note: Kirr is the hero of Alien War-Commander's Mate, and an absolute hoot of a character. Here he's giving his opinion on other books! In this review, Latharian War Commander Kirr M'Aab discusses the fated mates bond, the alien abduction that started it all, and what he thinks of Tarrick K'Vass's possessive claim on his human mate.)
Tarrick K'Vass is a war commander who operates on instinct, commits fully to every decision, and does not hesitate when his female is threatened. These are not small qualities. When a rival takes what is his, he does not negotiate, does not posture, does not wait for permission. He boards the enemy ship and handles the situation personally. I respect that. I would have done the same. His female — Cat — matches him. She is not a passenger in her own rescue. There are things she does in the second half that I cannot describe without revealing too much, but I will say this: she is the reason the other women survive. She fights, she thinks, she acts. If Tarrick had not claimed her, he would be a fool. That he recognised what she was immediately tells me everything I need to know about him as a commander. You assess, you decide, you commit. He did.
The mating marks are real. I know what it is to look at a female and know, not think, not hope, know. K'Vass describes it as something that rewrites everything he thought mattered: his ship, his rank, his record. All of it meaningless against one small human who argues with him in front of his warriors and steals his own identification from around his neck. I understand this completely. I would not say I handled my own situation with more dignity. The bonding ceremony had me — there is a moment near the end that I have feelings about. I am not discussing them. Read it. Especially if you are a female who thinks she knows what a Latharian warrior is willing to sacrifice. You do not. Not until you have read this.
Five combat stars. K'Vass earned them.
